Erika had been put in the "general activities" group and had been put in charge of hosting the "truth or dare" event. Naturally, she wasn't about to wait for the very last day and instead, opted to do it at the evening of the first day. What better way was there to make people feel less awkward by having them share all their dirty little secrets in front of their fellow students and staff?
Exactly.
Looking at the crowd that had gathered around the camp fire for the event, Erika pursed her lips. "Alright, I think most of you already know what this game entails," she became, adding a little dramatic pause as her eyes searched the crowd for one miss Ellen Banks; offering the blonde something of a smirk, she continued. "Either through having played the game before or seen it on TV."
"I'll start us out..." She looked around once more, a mischievous gleam layering her expression. "You!" she exclaimed, a olive colored finger pointing at none other than Marcus Foster : she didn't even care if he had intended to participate or was unlucky enough to find himself too close to the game's quarters. "Truth or dare?"

Matthew wasn't exactly sure why he agreed to come. But luck was in his favor, apparently, and he couldn't have been happier -- or more stressed -- that he came. But those were all worries for later on tonight. For now, there was truth or dare.
There were very few chances he had to play this game with hearing people. Once in middle school he did, but it wasn't the best of times. Plus, he didn't have his handy-dandy closed-captioning powers to help things along. It was going to be different this time, right?
He watched Erika closely. Her font was shaky. Since more than one person was hearing it, each of their interpretation of her voice was blending in to one single caption. At times, one person's thoughts made their interpretation stand out, but not right now. Which was fine, he just needed to make sure he didn't miss anything.
Trusty white board was ready to scribble down short blobs of text. Because, really, how many people here knew sign language? And there wasn't enough groups of words around for him to ghostwrite properly (except his hoodie; he was prepared in case he got lazy).

Kentaro had been put in charge of the general activities, which he assumed was short for “we didn’t know what else to make you supervise”. Far from taking an offense at this, he considered it his duty to do the best he could as a supervisor of the general activities. He’d still find a way to evade at some point and look at the other stuff offered. He had a mind to go exploring at some point.
For now, one of those students also appointed to the general activities decided there was nothing better than to have a game of truth or dare right at the start of the trip. It did not bother Kentaro, he was in fact a little curious as to how that would turn out. Not to add that he actually never played that game before. Plus, as said before, this was a general activity and he figured at least one of the supervisors should be there to, well, supervise. Not sure he’d do a good job at that, but he could at least prevent them from taking clothes off.
He stood a little in the back. He didn’t want to prevent them from having fun only because a staff member was there to look at them but he still had to look at them. He watched as the young woman scanned the crowd gathered around her. A smile came through his lips as he looked at Marcus, the poor victim who had to start the whole thing. To think Kentaro was not too far from him and could have been picked. This amused him a lot.
Marcus was simply there. He supposed the camping trip afforded him a valuable opportunity to get a good look at the students under his care in a more natural, open environment to see how they fared but that would be reading far too much into it. The former Army Ranger had little personal or professional interest in 'roughing it' even to the extent of staying in a cabin for the weekend. He'd played that game a thousand times before and vastly preferred his climate controlled civilian life.
There was something to be said for the overtime pay that came with volunteering for Academy events.
Regardless of his reasons for being at the national park, Marcus had a job to do. Despite being hungover and really not feeling up to doing much of anything, he went about checking each cabin as he was instructed. He gave a grunt of disapproval while he made his rounds. The entire operation looked like one big clusterfuck that caused the First Sergeant that still resided deep down within Marcus' booze addled, now civilian heart to nearly surface.
Marcus trudged into the cabin to give it a good once over before a voice caught his attention. His brow furrowed from behind the large, dark sunglasses he wore to keep the sun from exacerbating his hangover as he studied the source. "Uhhhh." He glanced from side to side, almost as if he was looking for some sort of hidden camera or something. He mulled over the question before shrugging his broad shoulders and moving further into the cabin. Fuck it. He thought. "Alright. Truth." He wasn't about pranks or doing anything stupid but he'd lived a lot of life and if this young lady wanted to play, he would oblige her.

Warming her hands over the camp fire, Erika spent a few seconds mulling it over. She couldn't ask for something too risky this early, though, if she was to ask any staff member something risky, she surely would have picked this guy.
"What part about your job do you hate the most?" she asked then. She could hear a few of the gathered people whisper excitedly while some went as far as going 'oooooh'.
Someone threw another log onto the fire and the comfortable smell of wood burning filled the air. It was too cold to stay outside without the fire, after all.
"Huh." Marcus gave a bit of a grunt in response to the question. He was actually a little disappointed by it. Given the circumstances he had been expecting something either incredibly personal, ridiculous or lewd. Nonetheless, it was still a solid inquiry that could lead to an inside look at the mindset of one of the newer and more unorthodox members of the Bellefonte staff.
"I hate that most of my co-workers are lazy, self-indulgent, easily offended pussies who don't seem to have any idea how to guide and lead the students through their unique situations." The reply came with little hesitation. Marcus didn't need a trained monkey with a Walt Disney imagination to pick out the glaring flaws within the Academy staff. And he didn't need any booze to be incredibly loose lipped with that opinion.
The up front declaration was followed by a pause before Marcus remembered the rules of the game. He was supposed to pass on the onus of answering. With a random wave of a hand he gestured toward one of the students. "Alright, you there, Hoodie." He said, referring to the young man standing attentively with a whiteboard. "I guess, uh, truth or dare?" He shrugged absently, almost feeling like a dumbass for evening humoring anyone by playing this game without even being drunk to use as an excuse.

Well, that was slightly unexpected. Only slightly. Matthew watched Marcus's reply stream from his lips. His captions were brute-ish, that was clear. Everyone's interpretation of him pretty much matched, so there was no sporadic combination of fonts and colors.
And then the attention was on him? But... but why? He looked around him, making sure he was the only 'Hoodie' he could be referring to. Matt sighed and stood up.
Still on the high from a few days ago, he decided to live a little. And he figured this week could only bring about good things. Why not live a little? He scribbled "Dare" on his whiteboard and showed it to Marcus, panning it around so the rest of the players could see what he chose.
Immediately Marcus's mind flooded with things they really shouldn't. For just a moment he was transported back to the long days spent in the desert with nothing to do between patrols and missions where the boredom would drive his fellow soldiers to the furthest depths of depraved and offensive humor imaginable. Even the most tame of 'dare' that would be used down range would probably end up with him being labelled creepy or perverted at best and land him in jail at worst.
After a long moment of thinking it over, using the time to withdraw a small, chrome flask from a inside his coat, unscrewing the cap and take a pull from it, Marcus' face finally lit up. "Alright." He said, securing the cap onto the flask and tucking it away. "Go to cabin three." He began, pointing in the direction of the cabin he had been assigned to oversee. "And steal the pillows and blankets off the beds and bring them here." Why? Because it would be hilarious to the unfortunate students who were stuck with him.

... What?
Matt glanced over to Cabin 3. Who was in there, anyway? He knew Isaac and himself -- and some more people who he skipped over once he realized Isaac was going to be there -- were in Cabin 1. But 3? What if someone was in there right now? Nah, most were probably doing other camping-related things... or, you know, here at Truth or Dare.
He set down his whiteboard and began slowly, and awkwardly, heading towards Cabin 3. If he was going to make it through this trip, he was going to have to take some risks at some point. And, besides, it was a Dare. You can't really say no to a Dare.
Deep breath, Matthew entered the cabin. Luckily (for him, not the residents) it was unlocked. He'd make sure to bring the pillows and blankets back to the room after the game was through. He was quite sure Marcus wasn't going to do something completely dickish.
So, he grabbed all the blankets and all the pillows from the four beds. And, without thinking, entered the single bedroom for the staff member and grabbed those, too. Better to be thorough.
In a few moments, Matthew was heading back to their game site. He set the pillows and blankets on top of his white board, feebly trying to not get them dirty. He brushed off his hands and smiled. Done.
It was his turn, now. He looked around, spotting Kentaro Itonokogiri . He pointed to him, then pointed down to the text that resided on his hoodie. It no longer said what the others may have caught a glimpse of before. If others happened to see him ghostwrite, they'd experience a mild dyslexic affect until the wording on his shirt settled:
Michael was not really interested in putting up any kind of activity but he was actually pretty happy he ended up in the general activities. He didn’t see himself cooking for everyone or hiking in the woods in the middle of winter. Starting up a truth or dare game or a flashlight tag was far more his kind of thing. Too bad there weren’t enough interesting guys around, for it would have made things even better. He had to admit he was a bit disappointed in the roomies he ended up with. Luckily, he didn’t have to stick with them every minute of the day. And Erika started the truth or dare game.
He probably would have started it had she not done so, but he could agree that it was best she did. She was more likeable. At the very least, the fact she was a Bellefonte made people listen more than himself, even if he had a loud voice when he wanted to. It amused him how people oohed at her question. She was starting safe.
The answer proved more interesting and had him snort. The dare was boring and Michael already started losing interest by the time the Asian man was asked truth or dare. He hoped it would get more interesting soon though.

Catching Michael entering the grounds, the brunette quickly made her way over, one arm snaking around his shoulders. "Don't look so disappointed," she whispered, offering him a playful nudge. "Start off easy to give people a false sense of safety, then unleash the hell hounds." Well, it was partly that, and partly the fact that she wasn't about to ask a staff member about their sex life. Now that was something Erika had no interest in.
Still, she was fairly certain things would heat up and having the staff members heat up alongside them would only mean the students couldn't end up in trouble for asking... Risque questions, right?
Thankfully, Mr. Foster didn't seem like the kind of person who held anything back.

Kentaro smiled at the question asked Marcus. That was an interesting one. The answer was too, and very much in the man’s style. Not one moment did Kentaro think he might have been the one referred to in there. He was not easily offended. As for lazy... but he always got the job done at the end of the day, so they could not complain. He watched around the different students gathered. Some let out snorts, other seemed shocked by it. At least the guy didn't give the boy too terrible a dare. That would be weird if he had to supervise the other supervisors.
He waited with the others while the boy left to pick the pillows and blankets. After he returned, Kentaro waited to hear the question asked to someone. He didn’t expect to be the next person. The boy pointed at him and then his hoodie. He frowned and saw how the words turned into the question. That was an unusual power. He looked around.
“Dare,” he answered. he considered truth, like Marcus, as this should be more their games and he wasn’t sure the supervisors should be involved, but truth was too boring, safe. And Kentaro preferred to go for interesting.

Captions flowed from Kentaro's mouth, and his font was... interesting? Hint of an accent from the way it looked. Either that, or someone wasn't even trying to listen to what he was saying.
Matthew looked the recruiter up and down, trying to think up something he could have him do. He knew of his ability, but couldn't think up anything particularly interesting that involved it. He scanned the crowd, trying to find someone to become an unwilling victim.
Eyes landed back on Erika Bellefonte , and he smiled. Probably for ethical reasons or whatnot, Mr. Itonokogiri couldn't do what Matthew was about to suggest to a student. But Erika wasn't one anymore, right?
He turned back to Kentaro and pointed to his hoodie again, a devious smirk crossing his face.
A game of truth or dare wasn't generally something that drew Ever's attention. He wasn't sure he liked the compromised positions it often left him in; he had issues with being vulnerable in front of people he didn't trust. But he had nothing else to do, and he was comforted by the idea that no one would pick on him. He was a cook and no one knew him, so why pick on the stranger? It wasn't a good recipe for comedy.
The young man approached the circle, hovering near the outskirts as he scoped it out. He brightened slightly upon recognizing Erika but, noticing she was in the middle of something, only offered he brunette a warm smile over the light of the campfire. He caught the end of the dare and bit his lip. A kiss? Well, it was reasons like this that he avoided the game. Poor Erika.
Ever looked around for the lucky individual that would get the kiss. He was sure there was a long line of people wanting that opportunity. He wasn't sure if he was bothered by it, and didn't know if he should be, but there was no doubt that he was going to be watching the dare closely. Call him paranoid.

So far the game had been rather innocent. While some students probably found it boring, Kentaro didn't see how it could be different with staff around to watch over them. At the same time, Kentaro figured it was the reason why they wanted staff to watch over them. He didn’t expect to be the one who’d do the first somewhat risqué action of the night.
A kiss wasn’t much but he looked at Erika and something told him she was a student. Not that it was a very hard to make assessment. His brows lifted a bit as he read the dare on the guy’s hoodie, before looking at the girl in question. He seemed to hesitate a moment, but it was mostly his brain going through the possible problem he’d get from it before he shrugged and moved closer.
He didn't specify the kind of kiss and so he started by kissing her cheek but, as he heard a complaint over it not being good enough (thank Michael for that), he added a quick peck on her lips. It was brief. Kentaro didn't see why it should be more than that. He somehow doubt trying to explain them how Japanese people normally don’t do that sort of thing in public wouldn’t be welcomed.
And now was time to find another victim. With a bit of luck, throwing it at a student would have them forget about the staff around. He wasn’t sure he wanted to be the only one doing crazy stuff while the kids went for the more innocent dares and questions. Kentaro didn't know a lot of the students. Unless he had a reason to pay attention to them, names of individuals tended to elude him. So he went for a familiar face instead. And it just so happened that there was someone from his cabin. “You there. Jack, was it? Truth or dare?”
