While a guy like Jack could pick something terrible because they didn’t have the proper imagination to go for something else, Michael knew that Erika could easily make him suffer with a dare. She knew him well enough to pick something that would humiliate him yet sound innocent enough for the adults not to put a stop to the game.
She could pick a pretty good one too with the truth but Michael had less shame at saying stuff than doing them. Plus he would feel no remorse lying in a game of truth or dare. She had to go for something sexual of course. It made him grin. That, he would have even less shame telling the truth than lying about it. “That self-defense guy. Caleb something,” he replied. The answer came quickly but there had been a complete thought process over it. He, of course, removed all women of the equation. Then took away the unattractive ones and the tattooed. He had no idea if Caleb had any but if he did he kept them hidden enough to please Michael. There was that psychologist too, of course, but, in the end, the muscles and clean shave won over dark and mysterious. Now he let the others spread the news. It wasn’t like he cared.
It was his turn to pick a victim and while tormenting Erika a little further was tempting, he couldn’t just pick her again. So he looked around. “How about you Taylor McCarthy ? Truth or dare?”

Taylor wasn't participating in truth or dare of all things. He was 21 years old for chrissakes, why the hell would he bother with playing such a stupid game? The elder McCarthy was only inside the cabin to keep an eye on his younger brother. Jack was just the type to make a complete ass of himself in public without an excuse, put a childish game in front of him and there was no telling what he'd do.
A slow nod followed Jack's somewhat tepid turn. Taylor had watched with bated breath, as if he may have to lunge forward and stop his brother from doing something they'd both regret in front of a small crowd of their peers. When that didn't happen he exhaled slowly and pushed himself off the wall he'd been leaning against and started for the door. Unfortunately, he didn't make it. When he heard his name he stopped and turned toward the source of the voice.
"What?" Taylor said, brow furrowed. "You what?" The expectant looks on the faces of the people around him told him everything he needed to know. With a low grumble under his breath he turned and reluctantly moved toward the circle of gathered kids. "Alright. Fine." He said with a flippant wave of his hand. "Truth." He really didn't want to be bothered by this but he'd play along for the sake of the game.

Michael had figured Taylor was there for Jack. Someone needed to keep him on a leash, if such a thing was possible. Personally, Michael would say this one needed to be put down, for everyone’s sake, but that might be a bit excessive. To have him as far away from him as possible did the trick too. Sadly, if there was a game of Truth or Dare being played, Jack had to sense it and come crash it. He did his show though and Michael hoped no one would have the bad idea to choose him again.
Michael was stuck with Taylor in a cabin. Just yet another one of those with not enough style to interest him. He might as well find a purpose for the guy and what better way than to force him to play with them. He kept staring at the guy as he faked innocence. It had to be faked. Michael refused to believe he could really be caught by surprise here.
He arched an eyebrow at the choice. Truth? He made sure to look as though he was disappointed in his choice. The guy didn’t have his brother’s guts. The fact Michael also picked truth was totally irrelevant here. “If a psycho killer took us all hostage and told you you had to kill one of us to save the rest, who would you pick?” Michael made a real effort not to look at the younger McCarthy. He knew what his choice would be.

It was all so melodramatic and serious, Taylor's eyes could've rolled so hard they'd may detach from their sockets and take a lap around the inside of his skull. Sometimes he wondered what it was that most of his so-called 'peers' had going through their heads when they put so much stock into such juvenile endeavors. Taylor was hardly one to judge but as he ventured into his early twenties he thought kid games like truth or dare would fall by the wayside.
A contemptuous snort followed the question. Taylor's head shook and he issued a low sigh. It wasn't even an interesting or particularly lewd inquiry but at least it beat being asked to do something stupid like (GASP!) kiss a girl or cluck like a chicken. With precedent like that set was it any wonder he opted to forego 'dare'?
"To be honest." Taylor began with little hesitation. His answer didn't require much thinking. Nearly everyone present already knew who his brother was and as far as he could tell he'd only held an actual conversation of any sort with one other attendee. "Besides that daffy cunt there," he said, waving a hand dismissively toward his Irish kin, "I don't really give a fuck about any of ya." He shrugged. "So your psycho killer could have his pick."
It probably wasn't the kindest answer but it was one spoken with undeniable truth. Taylor hadn't been a lone wolf during his time at BA by any means but there were precious few individuals he cared about. At least the game served as somewhat of a distraction to pass the time until Jack got bored and went off to do something else stupid that Taylor would undoubtedly have to drag him out of.
"Hey. You. The pissy blonde in the corner." Taylor said waving toward Ellen Banks . If he was going to be pulled into the game without wanting to he was going to make damn sure he passed that 'favor' on to someone else. "Truth or dare or some shit."

Unfortunate language aside, Jack visually perked up when Taylor gave his answer, Approval from his peers have always been something of a weak point for Jack Mccarthy. One lone nice thing would pick him up for weeks on end, he’d mentally store any o positive remark like a little squirrel harvesting and saving nuts for the cold harsh winter ahead. So as you could imagine, the twinkle in his eyes when Taylor made sure to single him out, with an impressively smug face his eyes travelled towards Michael a grin appearing on his face “Hear that?” Jack said poking himself in the chest proudly
“Hear that? That’s me, I’m the daffy cu-Wait, who are you asking?!”

It was amazing the reaction, some people seemed to have over a room when their name was invoked. Ellen Banks was the prime example of that, Before hand, the mood in the room had been light-hearted and playful like one would expect when a truth or dare was in the middle of being played, but when the name “Ellen Banks” was uttered there was a noticeably collective drop in the populous enthusiasm as the biggest party pooper in Bellefonte history was summoned and as if stepping out of the collective nightmares of everyone in the room, there Ellen was leaning against the wall, blending into the backgrounds, thumbs dancing lightly across the phone her eyes shooting up at Taylor a typically sour expression as if insulted he was even talking to her…
Ellen looked up and down Taylor, with a cold blank expression the silence quickly becoming awkward as she did “For the record, you’re the only one who would” Ellen insisted her voice calm and straight forward “....Your brother is an embarrassment to everyone even remotely associated with the school and the fact you care reflects poorly on you” First after checking her nails she put away her phone sighing “....Truth” A typical answer from Ellen. She rarely ever chose “Dare” why would she? Why would she have to prove?”

Taylor's brow furrowed as his brother started spouting off. Yeah, Taylor gave a damn about his younger sibling. Given the number of arguments, shouting matches and outright fights he'd gotten into on Jack's behalf Taylor didn't think that was anything but obvious. His head shook and he issued a low, annoyed grunt before reaching out and swatting at the back of Jack's head. "Jesus Christ do you ever shut up?" He grumbled between gritted teeth before being able to turn his attention to the stuffy, uptight blonde.
There was not a single fuck to be given or found within the dark eyes that settled upon Ellen. Words didn't mean a goddamn thing to Taylor, least of all those spewed forth by preppy bitches. He wanted to ask something that would really chap her ass but it had to be just the right question. He studied her a moment, his mutant power kicking in as he did so. He suddenly became hyper aware of his surroundings, his mind acting like a high speed camera and flashing to every tiny, subtle cue in an instant.
A smirk slowly spread across Taylor's face as the apathy in his gaze melted away and was replaced by nothing less than pure mischievous malice. "Have you ever had a crush on one of your friends?"
