Matt’s been at Bellefonte since he was fifteen. They found out about his manifestation before he did. He’s developed a bit of a connection to the recruiter Daphne, as she worked hard to make sure he felt as comfortable at Bellefonte as he did at his school for the deaf.
His first year was a little shaky, getting used to being one of few (maybe the only) deaf kid in a school full of hearing people. But, luckily, his ability helped smooth some of the bumps.
Second year was better. Much better. He even found out he could ghostwrite.
His final year before facing the real world? Let’s see how it ends.
Help me fill in the blanks! I (unintentionally, but let’s go with it) left his history before Bellefonte pretty open. He grew up in the DMV area (DC / MD / VA) and attended a residential high school (aka, a boarding school) for the Deaf. His current aspirations are to
Friends:
They don’t have to sign, but he’d place them higher up on the scale of friendship if they legitimately tried. He likes reading and writing and occasionally art. He has a few personal comic books he’s sketched up and a few books on his To Read list. Maybe his best friend would have recommended a good book.
Love:
Oh man. Let’s do this! Matthew is homosexual, and has had some experiences back in DC. He has his eyes on two people, currently, but believes they are lost causes (one is staff [Simon] and the other a jock [Isaac]). Help him get over his crushes… or, hey, ya know, if you happen to be one of those hinted characters, let’s do this. Lol Or, if you want to flip that on it’s head…
Enemies:
Not sure why anyone would hate the deaf kid, but maybe that first year was a little too rough. Matthew is pretty open about his sexuality, but he doesn’t make that Fact #2 in his introduction. Maybe you hate him for another reason?
