"My dear, you have my guarantee that I won't ever be too busy to run around the field kicking some balls," he replied with a smile. Compared to the other activities he usually would be up to, teaching soccer to a girl was probably more accepting and 'productive' as his counselor would gladly tell him.
Whoa. Well wasn't that a sudden change of mood. He knew what he brought up was the cause of it, but he was grateful she did not ask him further about it. Phillip was not up to talk about it, especially since it involved how he felt about it. So quickly he put that smile back on.
"A boy actually. You can say when I was younger, I was "desperate" to spend time with him." Phillip laughed. He was sure if he had not been so intent on hanging out with his brother, he would have turned out very differently. For better or for worse? Who knew. "So that's how all the shenanigans start really. Got any brothers of your own?"
He liked hearing her laugh and was quite happy that she saw humor in the story he shared. He obviously found it hilarious too. "You know, love, you've got to give me credit. I ain't in the culinary club for nothing," he said, still laughing. "But no, I didn't bake the cake then. You could say, I sneaked into the kitchen to "get a juice box" but to be honest, I convinced the chef that that was what my brother wanted to do as a little surprise." He grinned. "Of course that was not true but by some miracle he actually believed me. It helped that my brother had a track record for these things too," he added.
