Derek was beside himself with rage. He had stopped in his tracks yet again. He wanted to believe that Phillip was screwing with him, that would make sense, but the evidence made it obvious that they were on their way way. How had Derek let himself get wrapped up in his Phillip's nonsense. If he had just ignored his brother's existence this morning he would be back at school happily in class.
This was all his parent's fault. They were the ones who wanted to know what Phillip was up to, they were the ones who blew up bombarded his phone with texts and calls, this was all their fault, and not in the least bit his own. Derek would argue that don't until he was blue in the face. Despite how angry he was, Derek did follow his brother passed the gate while clearing expressing how angry he was with a select few swear words that he needed to get out before they were in earshot of their mother.
Derek continued to verbally express his rage as they headed up towards the house when a thought came to him. He still hadn't discovered what the box and flowers were for. "So what's your plan?" He asked through gritted teeth. "Ditch class and hope mom's cool with it because you've got gifts? You're just bloody brilliant you know that?"

Phillip Prince was grinning from ear to ear as they waited for whoever to open the front door. He was not even hiding how much he was enjoying Derek's anger. He laughed and treated as if it was normal to piss off his younger brother. In a way, it was pretty much normal for the two.
"Why thank you, little brother. I do believe that's the first compliment I've received from you all day today," he said, purposely ignoring the sarcasm. "It's clever isn't it? Upset her, make her worry then return home with flowers and her favorite raspberry cake." He winked. That was in the box and why he was gentle with it so the icing was not ruined.
"And instead of being angry about the whole thing, she would be relieved that her darling son is safe and unharmed, instead of god knows what. You know how she thinks of the worst when you don't return her calls," he pointed out smugly. "What were you expecting, Derek?"
