Rhett Jones as a chaperone for a ball. That or signing up to take a date (which would not happen). Still Rhett scratched his chin, considering. "Bein' a chaperone might be fine I suppose. Wouldn't mind it much. Least I'd get ta stay indoors for a change." He joked with a grin. However there had to be a catch to this.
Which he was right about. This particular catch though sent him leaning back in his chair. A call to their family back home. Rhett let out a low whistle of awe. "When you make a catch, ya make a a barbed hook don't ya?" Rhett teased, though there was a serious aspect to it. He'd tried in the past, but ultimately he would only text their family back home. He never got a response every year (except from some sisters), but at least he tried. Calling had the distinct chance their parent just might actually pick up. Which could be good or bad depending.
Yet Rhett wasn't one to back down from a challenge. Besides, the ball might actually end up being fun after all. Miracles could happen right? "I think you've got yourself a deal, Bo." Rhett offered his brother a hand to shake. "May the best man win."
"Like you ain't inside enough," Bo replied, snorting. He didn't bother mentioning that both the Jones boys would've almost preferred to be outside, particularly in a place like Montana; that went pretty well unsaid as it was pretty much unneeded to be unsaid. Instead, Bo just waited while Rhett worked his way through the catch, nodding as his brother finally processed the whole thing.
"Hell, someone's gotta try it," he offered, adding a slight shrug. He didn't know how else to put it, really. The thought did make Bo turn from his brother, giving the food a hard look. That was the whole part that really sucked about everything that had happened: leaving their family behind and all. Bo didn't even realize that Rhett had extended a hand until he turned at Rhett's comment.
"Right, I'll let you know how that feels when it happens," Bo replied, before taking the hand and giving it a few shakes, making sure to nod as he did. "Now why don't you go on an' git?" he waved toward the exit. "I got work to do, an' you'd jus' get in the way," and Bo wanted to be alone with his thoughts now, even if they were a tad gloomier.
