Student Army

[Ella Grey]

Ella had been told she needed to get on board with this - not because she was the right person for it, but because of her position, she held a little authority around here. Naturally, that had done nothing but puff her ego, which she assumed was the point. She had been paired up with one Bell Connelly too - who seemingly enjoyed doing these things.

Standing up on the podium, Ella watched as the room filled with students and staff. She wrinkled her nose as she issued something of a sigh. She and Bell had agreed that this would go much better if they could get some of the students along to help them deliver the idea. And Ella didn't mind one bit.

After all, the other students were more likely to participate if their ideas were delivered to a student, rather than a teacher and a trainer. Naturally, they hadn't come as far as actually assigning anyone yet.

So, Ella did what Ella did best; Barking orders. "You!" she called out, pointing at a red haired girl (Tami Mullins ). She turned and pointed at another kid (Max Fritz ). "And you!" There was another guy, though, Ella was fairly certain he was part staff too, which she supposed could work well with the rest of the group. "You too!" she called out to the man (Bo Jones ). Two of these looked rather young, though, so she wondered if she needed another college student. She pursed her lips as she looked around. She pointed her finger again, this time at another redhead (Heather Sutherland ). "You four, get up here."

Once the kids arrived, Ella put her hands on her hip and tilted her head at the little army she'd gathered. "You four - and no, I don't care how you do it - are in charge of getting the students to participate in this event." She looked at all four of them. "I don't care if you have to call them out by name, just get me a nice list of suggestions for any winter events that can happen anywhere from November 'til the end of January."

Ella tossed a last glance towards the gathering crowd down by the seats and shrugged. "And yeah, we'll be here if you need us." She gestured towards herself and the teacher, Jingle Bell or whatever her name was. 

"Oh and-" she said, turning her head. "You have ten minutes to prepare."

Of course, Bell didn’t need to be told to do this kind of work, quite the contrary, she actively volunteered unlike Ella who Bell could only assume was recruited. There was a few things that Bell loved more than anything (Bar; her three cats of course)and to of them were extracurricular activities and Christmas. Even though Christmas has been somewhat of a muted affair ever since her sister passed (She did so worry about her father’s drinking problem…) She understood what an important time it would be to some of the students here, especially for those without families to go home to or for whatever reason needed to stay here, she thought it was only fair that they try and make the school as homely as they possibly could under the circumstances.

In fact, on the way, their Bell was happily jabbering away to her colleague she personally had for this most magical of seasons….


….She didn't’ answer back...in fact, she essentially ignored Bell the entire way there...But she was sure she was just taking them in silence.

So naturally once they reached the podium Bell only too happily approached it with her partner “Hi-Ohh!” Bell stopped in mid sentence recoiling ever so slightly at the audio feedback before stepping forward again grinning nervously

“Hello everyone on behalf of-”

Bell suddenly shut up jumping back a little bit in surprise at Ella barking orders, clearly wanting to take the lead on this, so Bell somewhat gingerly stepped back behind her, frowning all the while she spoke clearly not approaching of her wording

“You two”

“They have names…”

“"I don't care if you have to call them out by name, just-”

“I care”

And so on and so on it went Bell meekly bouncing Ella’s words back to her shuffling her feet back and forwards uncomfortably but waving her hand when Ella bothered to reference her. Finally when Ella stepped away Bell herself hurriedly stepped forward “...But everyone, have fun ok?”  She nodded feebly before hurriedly back to join Ella casting her an incredulous look 

[Bo Jones]

Bo blinked a few times, not initially realizing that he'd been selected for something. It seemed like it was him and a few others that had gathered around for the announcement and that the one lady (Ellen, he thought?) had started calling them out to try and figure out something for the Winter. Bo supposed that didn't sound too bad.

He nearly wanted to ask what would happen after ten minutes, but this Ellen character didn't seem to care all that much about that. Bo did flash a quick smile toward the much nicer redhead, inclining his head. "I reckon we'll manage," he said, before turning back. "Well, we usually have this snowball fight thang on the weekends. Kinda give us a chance to unwind an' all, so I don't see why we don't start with that? Be a hella lot of fun."

Bo nodded again, adding a shrug before looking at the others, only then realizing that he didn't know any of them right now. one or two looked familiar from classes, the rest... "Oh, I'm Bo," he said, raising a hand and waving it slightly, adding a friendly smile as he did.

[Tami Mullins]

Did she mean her? Tami slowly got out of her seat, and since she wasn’t immediately told to sit again she assumed it must’ve been her. She hadn’t even been all that aware for why they’d been gathered in the first place, but clearly now she needed to pay attention again. Four of them were called, and Tami already knew two.

So when she went up she flashed both Max and Heather a warm smile. The boy was the unknown factor, but by the sound of his suggestion and his expression alone he seemed nice. “Snowball fights on the weekends sound fun. I’m certain everyone would be able to split themselves into teams whenever they wanted.” Tami agreed with a hum in her slow, calm voice. “Whoever wins that day could get free hot chocolate and food after. It would be a nice way to bring others together, I think. For that matter we could have movie nights on every Saturday; I know people like going to those, especially if snacks are involved.”

Tami would make sure not to be in charge of what movies would be picked though.

When Bo spoke up that made Tami realize they hadn’t given introductions yet. “I’m Tami.” She said, waving as well with one of her normal smiles on her face.

[Astrid Brynn]

Astrid had followed the gathering crowd into the auditorium. She'd heard there'd be some kind of meeting here and that everyone was supposed to meet, though, the reason of the meeting had either not been explained, or it had been completely lost on her. Which the redhead realized, wouldn't be all that surprising.

Once the teacher started pointing people out, Astrid found herself shrinking in her seat. Thankfully, it seemed as if her luck was on her side today and she didn't fall victim to the teacher's rally.

Letting out a breath of relief, she straightened in her seat and waited, oh so patiently for the meeting to start. 

[Max Fritz]

Assemblies were normally shit. It's the consensus among most people that any form of school meeting would be long and boring. So Max sat slumped, hiding her phone behind the seat in front of her. Heads turned, eyes boring into Max. Her eyes flickered up, staring at the teacher pointing at her. She stood up, awkwardly sidestepping from her row. What was going on? Had she missed something?

Max, standing close to Tami, nodded at both suggestions. A movie night sounded good. Maybe not as fun as the ones she had with Tami but fun none the less "Horror films are good..." She bobbed her head again, shoving hands in pockets and rocking on her heels "Can I suggest some ice hockey? Like a little League?"

A fumbled salute followed as they introduced themselves "Max...at your service, slash rather not get into shit from the staff for not participating."
