It was late evening, and Poppy was by herself, a weird sight for the twins, but Piper had a long day and needed rest, so Piper was back at the dorms, while Poppy was here in the library, looking for tips and hints about writing. She was intent on finding some useful information for her writing and for her chronicles. Finding a few books, she made her way to one of the tables. Placing the books down, she took a seat, pulling out her loose sheets of paper and taking the pen from around her neck and began scribbling down tips she found useful.
She stopped writing after awhile and looked around the library. It was quiet, then again, all libraries were usually quiet anyway. There was some chitter-chatter here and there, small groups, people sitting by themselves reading or studying, others using the study rooms for various reasons. It was peaceful, tranquil, serene even, a rather odd description for a library, but it made Poppy really relax, not just her usual bubbly self, but relaxed and calm. Nothing could go wrong in the library. Unless on of the less controlled students accidentally sets the place alight, but chances of that happening were pretty low. And without even thinking, she began writing about the library and it's peaceful surrounds.

People make too much noise. Or a person was making too much noise, LDR couldn't decide. One moment the constant boom from the room next door to him was full blast and the next it dropped to nothing. There was a bang and then the music would start again. Suffice to say it was not the best place to be doing work so LDR slinked off to find a place that was quiet. All the study rooms were taken and there was some sort of fight happening in the lounge. The only place of solace appeared to be the library.
He stood for a moment, eyes scanning the various occupants of the room. There were a few desks with spare chairs but they were all full of individuals who looked intimidating, probably not that intimidating but the idea of people in general scared LDR. He clocked a girl who looked engross in her work and set off to sit down at the table. Just before sitting he tapped in front of the girl and pointed at the chair "I-I-Is it o-okay if..."

The silent and quiet flow of scattered chatter had fueled Poppy's creative edge as she wrote about the serene calm that had surrounded her. She had zoned out almost completely. Soon a voice spoke to her, stunning her out of her zone. "Uh... sure." She smiled warmly at the boy who had approached. "No one else is sitting there. Though I suppose my sister would if she was with me, but she's back at the dorms." Poppy shrugged. He seemed shy to her, so she left the conversation at that, and if he wanted to converse, she would be more than happy to indulge in conversation, but for now she focused on getting back into the zone for her writing.

After confirmation that he could indeed sit down, for once not being told to take a long walk of a short pier, he took the seat. Books set up, LDR stared blankly at the sheet of maths. Not a single part of it made any sense. Actually it made sense individually but pushing it all together caused his brain to have a minor spazim.
He gazed hopelessly at the page for a few more moments, begging for the universe to give him the answer. But no answer came. Eyes glanced up at the girl. She was busy writing down something. Best not to disturb her silence. Paper pushed to the side. History book pulled open. Hey, at this point anything was better than maths.

Poppy glanced up every once in awhile. He was doing his math, she looked down again and kept writing. Glancing up again, she saw he had his history book. With a shrug she kept writing. It wasn't so much that the silence was awkward, it was so much that the air around the two seemed isolated and lonely as they weren't communicating but she didn't want to startle the boy or making him feel uncomfortable. With a sigh she put her writing to the side.
"Um..." She lightly tapped the table in front of him, hoping she didn't startle him. "I'm sorry if I startled you." Poppy apologised. "We haven't introduced ourselves have we? I'm Poppy. Poppy Belmont." She smiled. "I didn't mean to disturb you." She blushed lightly.

Okay, maybe history wasn't much better than maths. At least in maths he understood parts of it. In history all that greeted him was dense language. Brows knitted together. He turned the page in the hope that it would at least have questions to do but he was greeted by another page of heavy text.
At the tapping he gazed up from the book "Oh. I-I-I'm Li-Li-Li-Li...LDR." He glanced down at the book and shrugged "D-D-D-Don't w-worry...i-it wasn't pa-pa-par...th-that interesting."

"Not interesting? But history is so fun." Poppy responded. "Think about all the great artists that came out of different time periods. Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci... Shakespeare!" Poppy's voice rose a little and she got told to be quiet. She sat down with a sheepish grin and looked to the boy, hoping she didn't frighten the boy. "Sorry..." She blushed again. "History is only as interesting as you make it. You can draw the history in a way you understand, you can write trivia cards, heck, even grab some friends and act it out. Same with any subject." Poppy smiled. "Okay... so... some parts of history are... a little on the boring side, but then you make it fun for yourself."
All the while Poppy was demonstrating, moving her arms around in the air in drawing motions, acted out a sword fight and several other gestures that got her more than a few stares. She had even gotten out of her seat at one point. When she finished speaking she sat down again and soon everyone just returned to their own conversations. Poppy looked at LDR from across the table. "I'm not making you feel uncomfortable am I?" She asked. "If I am, I'm sorry..."

LDR had never seen anyone speak so enthusiastically about History before. Or speak so swiftly that not even he could quite make out what she said. The joy she seemed to take in explaining the various revision steps one could take to make a subject tolerable seemed to be genuine. He formed a half-smile as she moved around erratically. The attention their small table was getting from the people around him was rather unsettling, but he tried his best to shove off those feelings.
He frowned slightly at her question. Did he look uncomfortable? If he was it probably wasn't intentional "N-N-N-N-No...I wa-wa-was ju-just in awe of y-your sw-swordfight th-that's all."

She sat down with a shrug. She wasn't scaring him, so that was good she guessed. "Awe of my swordfight? Well... I am one for the dramatic. Whenever I get bored of a subject, I turn my work into a story. Even math. Then again, I'm just an oddball." Poppy laughed quietly. She liked LDR, he was her... well, library buddy. They got along well, and his shy awkwardness complimented her outgoing odd personality. "Feel better about your subjects now?" She asked him.

LDR absently tapped his pen against the pad of the paper to the left of him. He smiled slightly "A-As g-g-good as one ca-ca-can get" A glance to the paper in front of her and a raised eyebrow "You wr-writing a st-story for a su-subject there?" It was a question that was partially curiosity and partly wanting to avoid more of his work. Was that too invasive? I should just get back to work...

"This thing? Nah, this is just me documenting my story. Nothing too interesting." Poppy giggled. So much for peace in the library, but she didn't mind LDR's company, she found it refreshing that she had a new friend.
