Addison “Bunny” Drew Hopkins
FACE CLAIM: Brit Marling
♦ THE BASICS ♦
AGE: 38
GENDER: Female
ORIENTATION: Panromantic Asexual
POSITION: Sex Ed. and Biology Teacher♦ THE ABILITY ♦
POWER: Duplication
- Her ability is to duplicate herself via mitosis. She can create 1-3 copies of herself that look, act, and feel exactly like her during the time of their creation. Making anymore than 3 is too difficult to accomplish without them coming out with physical and mental deformities,
- Bunny must replicate all the data she needs to create clones at the same time. She cannot create one copy and then replicate her cells to make another copy straight away. She must create all the chromosomes to make the 2 duplicates at the same time. Every copy must have 48 chromosomes like any other human.
- Each copy is exactly like Bunny physically, but each possess a different emphasized personality traits; they also change over time based on their separate experiences.
- Making clones takes time. One copy can be done in 10 min; 2 copies can be done in 20 min; and 3 copies takes 40 min to make. The more time they take, the less likely they will come out with issues.
LIMITATIONS:
Duplication
- Each copy Bunny wants to create requires a different level of energy. This means she must eat good foods, sleep, and consume little to no substances that can alternate her chemical balance in order to remain healthy enough to create 'perfect' duplicates. Each level requires more of each thing.
- Must multiply chromosomes based on number of clones she wants at the same time.
- Must avoid alcohol, drugs, smoking for perfect duplication to be possible
- Must avoid things that could increase chance of genetic mutations that could lead to diseases like cancer (eg. sunlight)
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Duplication
- Exhaustion, hunger, physical strain, headaches, muscle cramping
- High risk of getting cancer and other genetic diseases (mainly in clones but could happen to her as well)
- Copies will always inherit diseases that Bunny has. This is to say that all have Huntington's disease (copies will get the symptoms within a week of being created).
♦ THE CHARACTER ♦
HEIGHT: 5’5
HAIR COLOR: Blonde (natural hair colour is brown)
EYE COLOR: Blue
MISC: Bunny has her ears pierced, and a small tattoo of a bunny on her left wrist. She has a scar on her right side that appears to be from stretching. Her wardrobe mainly consists of black, white, and royal blue clothes.
PERSONALITY: Bunny is patient, whimsical, passionate, and kind. She loves to smile and be optimistic. Though she has a facade of confidence and social enthusiasm, Bunny can be socially awkward which leads her to be nervous, timid and on edge around people. With a great sense of responsibility and dedication, Bunny is loyal to her job and to anyone she considers a friend.
One of her weaknesses is finances. Bunny loves to spend money and is not someone who understands how to save money. If she can buy something or donate to charity, she will. As a result, she lives cheque to cheque. It is something she knows she's bad at, but brushes it off like it's nothing.
Bunny is very sentimental. She has a whole shelving unit in her home of items and trinkets that she received from various people in her life. These things are as important to her as the people themselves. Some have accused her of being a hoarder, but this just earns them an innocent chuckle.
Bunny is stubborn when her mind is made up. She is a strong believer in the majority must be protected. Even so, she is gentle and doesn't like confrontation. As a result, she will try and play dumb to avoid any undesirable situation.
SECRET(S): Her family has a long history of Huntington’s Disease. When she was in her early 20’s, she got herself genetically tested and it was confirmed that she had the gene. She lives with the anxiety that one day her brain will fail her. She’s never told anyone she has the disease.
Bunny also has a secret obsession over comic books and as a collection in a safe under her bed.♦ THE HISTORY ♦
Bunny grew up in BC, Canada. Her father was an environmental biologist who taught her all he knew. He would often bring her outside and teacher her the importance of keeping the world healthy and safe from pollution. This sparked her interest for biology.
As a family, they often went hiking and camping, spending a lot of their time outdoors. It seemed that Bunny and her father were inseparable. Though she, of course, loved her mother, she always felt closer to her father. He was the one who began to call her “bunny”.
When Bunny was 11, her father started to show symptoms of Huntington’s disease. Coming to terms with it was one of the hardest things she ever had to do. She did her best to take care of him alongside her mother, but she watched daily as he slowly lost function and memory. Watching her father change and get closer and closer to death was very hard on her. It changed her for the most part, and added the cynicism she has today.
When Bunny turned 13, her power came to light. She was showing down and a beautifully made meal when she began to feel strange. The feeling didn't leave her, only seemed to build and build inside. It was not a feeling that caused pain, it was just uncomfortable and unsettling. Suddenly, with no warning, a mass formed rapidly from her right side, stretching the skin and causing her distress. A clone stood next to her, reflecting her horror and confusion. It was quite the commotion that resulted in Bunny having to be taken to the hospital.
In just over 24 hours, two recruiters from the Academy of Acton Vale appeared at Bunny's doorstep to take her away. Though she was sad to leave her family behind, she went without a fight. The promise of getting her to understand and control her power was enough to make her go with eagerness.
Bunny graduated from the academy 4 years later. Her father passed away just after the graduation which led to her decision to go travelling. In her travels, she rediscovered her love for biology and went to the University of Cambridge to get her BSc in biology. Bunny worked in the UK for some time, mainly as an inclusive sexual educator, before returning to Canada to get her masters in genetics at Queen's University.
With much experience in her belt and a need to keep moving, Bunny applied for a position at Bellefonte Academy after receiving a green card. She got the position and is very excited about it! She's been teaching at the academy for 3 years now.♦ THE PLAYER ♦
