Violet was having a rough night, if you could believe it.
First, she had gone through the trouble of making her own fake ID, so she could get into one of the clubs and drink her sorrow away, and they had the gall to deny her? Who did they think they were?! She had kicked up a pretty big fuss because of this, before deciding to shut her mouth and leave, once they threatened to call the cops, and sneaking around to the alleyway around the club.
"Dammit," she hissed, kicking a can out of her way in the shadows of the alleyway, causing it to ring out. "Who do they think they fucking are, going around and fucking up my day? Those shitheads will-"
Wait. Wait a second. Was that...
"A window?"
She laughed maliciously, as if she were a supervillain while she began to move a bunch of boxes and trash cans underneath the relatively short window sill. Yes, perfect! She might be able to get in after all!
The back annex of the bar was being renovated. As such, it was off limits to bar patrons, but the bar owner knew exactly who Axel was, and often let him use the back annex as a sort of pseudo office space. Axel had a table set up, as well as his merchandise for the night. He also had stacks of cash, and a gun holstered neatly under his jacket, although he left his knife sitting on the table beside the cash. The switchblade was usually in his pocket, but to be comfortable, he had taken it out.
He lit a cigarette, took a sip of whiskey, and started flipping through the cash. One of his runners had brought him a nice little sum of money-- not bad for a week's work. Axel had already given the kid his cut of the proceeds, and now had some book balancing to do.
A sound came from the window across from Axel. His head shot up, sharp eyes narrowing. The window looked out over an alleyway, and he often heard noise from passing people, but this was different. Louder, and closer. Axel watched in mild disbelief as a small figure pulled themselves up through the window. His brow knit in a frown. Whoever was coming through the window had a mass of pink hair and a lithe body. He watched the person, a girl he noted with mild interest, as she dropped into the annex.
She hadn't noticed him yet. Axel took the cigarette from his mouth, blew out a cloud of smoke, and in his German-accented monotone said: "Who the fuck are you?"

Violet smirked to herself, as she continued to stack things up until finally, fucking finally, she had made a makeshift stool that would finally let her inside the club. It had taken only five minutes, but dammit, she hadn't deserved that kind of treatment. She was a God, compared to those ass-hats that blocked her way, but she felt a sort of superiority at having been able to outsmart them.
Part of her wondered if anyone else had ever tried this before, or if she was the first one to do this. The majority of her pushed the thought away though, as she eagerly began to climb up the ladder to heaven, or in this case, what she had assumed to be a bathroom window of some sort. It looked like one from out here, anyway.
However, once inside, she realized that this wasn't a bathroom at all. In fact, it was nowhere near close to a bathroom. "Fuck," she muttered as she looked up at the man in front of her.
"Who the fuck are you," he said, monotone with a accent laced with Germany. She couldn't tell if he was angry or not, but she didn't want to stay here long enough to find out what he looked like when he was.
"Who the fuck are you," she retorted, a snarl on her face before she began to reach into her coat pocket, where she kept a can of pepper spray, just for cases of emergencies. Even the ones she brought upon herself.
Jesus Christ, it was a kid. She snarled at him from behind a pair of sunglasses, and Axel's suspicious expression smoothed out to his customary neutral face, which softened his intimidating shark-like features, but not by much. Axel smoked his cigarette calmly, watching her go for something in her coat pocket. He suddenly felt a rush in his head, which was his mutation warning him of danger. His eyes unfocused for a second or two as he got a vivid image in his head of a slim can clutched in a tiny hand. He focused his eyes again, and looked at the pink-haired girl with a bit more seriousness. She had a weapon. Probably pepper spray.
Her retort had been sharp, and Axel actually kind of liked it. He liked when people wore their attitudes and intentions on their sleeves. This girl was not fucking around. She had triggered his danger warning-- an impressive feat. He had not had a premonition since he moved to Kalispell. He leaned back in his chair, and continued to casually smoke his cigarette.
"I don't think you're in a position to question me," he said simply, "Considering that you are breaking and entering." He could feel the weight of his gun pressing against his ribs, reminding him that it was there. He brushed the thought aside. This girl was a child. She was much younger than his sister, even than his roommate Tori. As he spoke, he began gathering up the money and drugs, careful to move slowly as to not arouse suspicion.

The much younger girl looked the man over. Tall, or at least taller than her, five o'clock shadow on his face, brown eyes, and browner hair. Then, her eyes went to wander the room for any sort of escape route.
Her eyes peered around the room for a few seconds, noting a filing cabinet, a potted plant, a makeshift desk made from some lousy dining room table, and a lamp. A lamp that would probably hurt like a bitch if it were to be smashed on someone's head. A small smirk came to her face, knowing that if something were to happen, there would be a few options.
The man's face fell back from a suspicious one, to a more... Well, relaxed wasn't the word to describe it, but a neutral expression. Yeah, that word sounded right in her mind. He even seemed to be a bit fearful, if her intuition was right, which growing up on the streets of New York, it had to be.
Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him. "Oh yeah? I bet I'm not even the only one breaking the law tonight. Don't you have anything better to do than pick on poor defenseless little girls," she asked, putting on a mockingly cute face before laughing. "Yeah, right. So much money for one man. What did you do, steal it?"
Ah, yes. Axel was remembering why he didn't like kids. The arrogance. The smirk on her face might have infuriated another man, but Axel didn't feel much of anything emotions-wise, no matter the situation.
He was struck with another premonition, but this time he couldn't see a specific item. He only saw arms swinging, as if holding a baseball bat. He mentally pushed the premonition aside, but what it told him was the girl before him was not afraid to start a fight.
Axel put out his cigarette on the tabletop and finished sweeping the drugs and cash up, and pocketed everything. His knife still sat plainly on the table. He left it, but did not look at it. He wasn't trying to appear too threatening. "Defenceless little girls who sneak into bars?" he said, raising a mocking eyebrow at her. He tactfully chose to ignore her comment about the money, as insulting as it was to insinuate that he was a common thief. Worst came to worst, he could slip out the back, knowing that the owner of the bar would deny that Axel had ever even stepped foot in the establishment that night. His bases were covered. All the evidence was safely on his person.
"Look," Axel said, "I don't really care that you're here. This isn't my bar. However," he motioned around at the dingy annex, "This is temporary office space, and you can't be in here." He got to his feet and pointed at the girl. "Go get a drink or some shit. Whatever. But if I catch you back here again," he flashed her a cold grin that only emphasized how empty his eyes looked, "I won't be so polite."

Violet could see the flash of annoyance on the older man's face, and she knew that she would have to get out of there before things got ugly. She didn't know how much longer she could keep this guy at bay with witty banter and annoying him to death and back. He also seemed to be spacing out, too, almost every five seconds. It was almost like he was... "A mutant?"
Fuck, had she said that aloud? Time to backtrack. Luckily, the guy had said something else about how she was so defenseless, she was sneaking into the bar. "Yeah, defenseless little girl who sneaks into bars. You must not have heard of us, we're pretty rare," she said with another chuckle, before she began walking past him when he waved her through. "They didn't take my ID, what else was I supposed to do?"
However, part of her liked annoying him. Really liked it. She felt powerful, even. She followed his motion to look around the annex. "Temporary office? Couldn't you do a little bit better?"
She shut up, though, when he pointed at her, looking at his finger. "Look, I don't want any of your shitty... Whatever you have here. What do you even have here," she asked, genuinely kind of curious, though her tone showed a very minute amount of it. "I'm actually curious now. You can't just leave a girl waiting."
"You won't find me back here, if, and only if, you tell me what you got. Deal?"
Axel mafe a "tch" sound in his throat, and wished that he hadn't stubbed out his cigarette. This kid was pissing him off. Usually, he was slow to anger, but something about this kid was starting to get under his skin. She was demanding far more than she had a right to demand.
"Nothing for little girls to play with," he said. He was about to reach forward to snatch her arm and drag her out of the back annex, but something made him pause. He looked at the girl. She wasn't from Kalispell. She had a hard glint in her eye, and that mouthy attitude. New York or Boston. No Boston accent, though.
"Might be something for a little New Yorker, though," he said slyly, venturing a guess. He dug a small bag out of his pocket and held it out in his flat palm. It was a few tabs of molly. He often gave out these small samples of molly to kids at the club to advertise his business. "Want?" he asked softly.

She couldn't help the little smirk that grew across her lips as she looked up at the much older man who was now getting angrier. She'd probably have to leave soon, before things got ugly, but he seemed to be one step ahead of her. He was reaching for her, ready to grab her, all while she was ready to spray him with pepper spray, her snarling at him and prepared to pounce. That was, until...
"Is that...?"
Fuck! She'd been without drugs for so long, it had been torture! The school only supplied her with the sunglasses, so anything she could get her hands on would be amazing. However, how did she know she could trust this guy? The hand she had reached out to snatch the drugs stiffened, her wide eyes narrowing in suspicion. "How do I know those aren't just rat poison," she asked, hand still ready to pull the trigger of her pepper spray and mace the motherfucker. "I'm not an idiot about these kinds of things. Prove they're the real deal."
Axel had to physically stop his eyes from rolling backwards into his skull. She was obviously new in town. No one had questioned him like that before. He opened the bag and popped a tab in his mouth. He hadn't planned on taking any molly that night. He rarely took it, or Ecstasy. His body reacted in a way that made him uncomfortable, but whatever. The drug would simulate a false sense of empathy, which Axel never felt naturally. When he started feeling a bunch of emotions at once, he didn't know how to handle it. At this point, he wasn't too concerned. He held out his tongue mockingly to show her it wasn't poison.
"I've got whatever you need," he said, tucking the tab into the side of his cheek so he could talk. "What're you looking for, little girl?"

Violet, on the other hand, watched with a sort of intrigue as the other took the tab out, and put it in his mouth, before giving a smile at the older man. "So, you're legit," she said, standing up at her height of five foot six to look the man over once more, and taking the bag from him. "I haven't had shit in what feels like ages." She laughed softly. "Living on cigarettes alone is fucking torture, you know?"
Suddenly, she held out a hand to shake the others. If she could get her hands on more cigarettes and pain-killers, she would be fucking set for life. "They don't prescribe anything for headaches, and I'm sick of these fucking sunglasses," she muttered, pushing said sunglasses up her nose to pinch the bridge of her nose, the aura of darkness growing slightly dimmer around her. "If you can get me some painkillers, I'll be forever in your debt. Do we have a deal?"
Axel pocketed the molly and shook the kid's hand. His enveloped her hand in his much bigger one. Fuck, she was tiny. He almost felt a twinge of guilt. He ignored it as the molly kicking in far too early.
"I'm Axel," he said. Violet's attitude had changed completely, now that she knew he had something she wantes. That was pretty common, in his line of work.
He withdrew his hand and felt in his pocket. He had OxyContin and Oxycodone. "What are you looking for?" he said. "I've got 10 to 80 milligrams."

Before she could take the molly, the man, now known as Axel, took it back, shaking her hand instead. She gripped his tightly, trying to show as much dominance as a five foot seven girl could to a six foot whatever man. She wasn't going to let anyone show her that she wasn't the boss, even if she wasn't. His hand was... Fuck. It was really big. She wasn't intimidated or anything, just surprised. She was always pretty small, but Jesus.
"Nice to meet you, Axel. I have a feeling we'll be seeing each other often," she said, a mischievous grin on his face.
"OxyContin," she said, looking at the pills he had just pulled out of his pockets. "How much can I get for..." She ruffled through her coat pockets for a second in search of money, before finding a twenty dollar bill and pulling it out. "I've got a twenty, but I have more if you need more."
Twenty bucks. That would get her four 10 mg pills, or one 20 mg pill. Axel sucked his teeth, a little derisively. "Here, kid," he said gruffly, ignoring the twenty dollar bill in Violet's hand. He took out two bags that contained four pills each. "Consider this a welcome to the neighbourhood present."
He could feel the effects of the molly starting to kick in. Just barely. The tips of his fingers were starting to tingle. Fuck. Molly and E were the only drugs that he had almost zero tolerance for. "Do you know what you're doing with those?" He asked. The last thing he needed was a minor over-dosing in the bathroom. Especially when his own night club was going to be opening up any day now. Bad publicity amongst his customers.
"And you really can't be skulking in this back room. Ever again." He added, almost casually. But his words had weight.

Eight pills? He was just going to let go of that stuff this easily? Hell, she should've snuck into his back office sooner! This was amazing!
She didn't let anything but a small, accepting smile cross her face, though, as she took the bag with a nod. "Thanks. I appreciate the gift," she said, looking up at the man that gave her the free shit. However, she didn't actually know how to use them... She figured she could look it up online, but it would probably be better to not try anything on the internet. Last time she had, she... Well, it was a bad time for everyone involved.
The warning threw her off for a second, but she didn't let it phase her too much. "Yeah, yeah. Shouldn't be here, dangerous, blah blah blah. I've heard most of it before. But yeah, I might need a little help. Don't wanna overdose in a bathroom... again."
