Xenith has the ability to draw existing shadows toward himself or others as well as generate more from his own shadow. His vision when in the dark, natural or created by himself, is greatly enhanced. When standing in already shaded areas he can pull the shadows like a cloak to render himself nearly invisible as well as manipulate shapes with the darkness, like the vision of claws reaching out toward you or the silhouette of any person he has seen. In combat, this is almost entirely a mind game, capturing his adversaries in darkness to attempt to either tire or terrify them. Xenith unconsciously reaches out with the dark as a limb at all times, unable to interact with the world in any way, but constantly feeling his surroundings.
LIMITATIONS:
His extra sensory from the dark only works in a 40ft sphere around himself. He can only consciously manipulate shadows within 10ft of himself, including those created by his own. Anyone with light based abilities can easily nullify his shadows, though being in an overly illuminated area would have him feel as if he were missing a limb. Due to his dark vision, he has trouble seeing during the day or in artificial light.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Severe fatigue during the day; almost nocturnal. Extreme sensitivity to light. Insomnia(More due to his job than his power). Isolationism. Depressive mood swings. Slight paranoia due to his range of shadow-sense. Since his power is constantly active he needs more sleep than most, though he chooses not to.♦ THE CHARACTER ♦

MISC: He has three deep scars across his left shoulder and the upper part of his chest from his father when Xen first developed his powers.
PERSONALITY: Xen is and always has been, the guy who drifts to the back of the room in the hopes of being ignored. While outwardly cheerful when confronted and often times grinning to himself in his self-imposed isolation he's usually very lonely. His days are spent between teaching an art class at Bellefonte and making an abundance of coffee in the teacher's lounge to stave off as much sleep as possible before the moon rises. He spends his nights alternating between reading horror stories in his room within the teacher's dorms and roaming the darkened streets of Kalispell, often testing and pushing the limits of his power.
While withdrawn and anxious human contact is something Xen very much craves and welcomes. In conversation, he seems very confident and excited, though he'll shy from any real physical or emotional connection due to a past experience when he first developed his powers. Though he has long since forgiven himself and those who wronged him in the past, he's still extremely skittish when faced with any overly intimate gesture and untrusting despite his active attempts at seeing the best in people. Being able to feel everything within a 40ft sphere leads to him unconsciously begin conversations with people on the other side of doors or around corners, giving a sometimes creepy feel about him, though he means nothing by it. His untrusting nature is especially evident when faced with people with telekinetic powers, being able to feel movement without reason usually puts him on edge, and causes his more unsavory instincts, such as hiding himself in darkened corners or making his way in the direction of an exit, kick in.
SECRET(S): Despite his usually cheery personality Xen suffers from severe nightmares in the cases when he sleeps and is extremely lonely, never able to trust people's motives when he can feel them 40ft away.♦ THE HISTORY ♦
Xen was like many before him, born in Greece and moved to the Americas long before his first memories. As a child, Xen found himself oddly fascinated with dark and tight places, often sleeping underneath his bed or reading fairy tales in closets. His mother died when he was too young to know her name giving birth to his younger sister, Olivia, putting both infant and newborn in the care of their loving, albeit bigoted, father. For what their father lacked in help raising them he made up for in his unfounded hate of mutants. Xen's father taught them both that trusting mutants would likely kill you, that powers were only for attacking and enslaving normal people.
At age twelve Xen's powers awakened and he, naturally, decided to try and hide them from his father, though his sudden adversity to harsh light was a curious point. Within the following four days, he tried as he might keep them hidden from even himself, staying in well-lit rooms and never opening the shades to the sole window in his room. One night, while he was up playing with the shadows on the wall, exhaustion distracting him from his goal of hiding, his father opened his door, hoping to talk to his son about his recent behavior. Horrified, Xen's father recoiled, temper violent with the realization his son was, in his eyes, a monster. Before his reason could kick in he had thrown his helpless, barely conscious child through the bedroom window and to the street outside. Xen took that chance to run, left side broken and bloody, as his father, now struck with grief at what he had done called out to him. Within twenty-four hours he was recruited to Bellefonte, where his life of quiet isolation began.
With nowhere else to turn to after highschool, Xen decide to pursue a teaching career to, in his mind, pay back the school that he believes saved his life.♦ THE PLAYER ♦
