Desmond can activate or deactivate the nerves in his or if contact is maintained another persons body. Contact must be kept and maintained otherwise he can not affect anyone else. For example he can activate the pain receptors in a persons body and the smallest flick can feel like a lethal blow. All it will do is give the feeling of pain, no physical effects will occur, the only limit is if he were to actually stab or shoot someone, the spiked nerves could send someone into shock. As with pain he can also do this with pleasure. He can flip them on or off, you can feel everything or nothing. He can use this power on himself.
LIMITATIONS:
He has to touch the person, once the contact is broken they will feel completely normal.
He can no longer feel pain and hardly pleasure without using the ability on himself. This is a downside because if there's a physical problem with him, he will not notice, if he breaks a bone or gets a severe injury, he will not feel it and it could easily hurt or kill him.
He at this point can active 3/4ths of the receptors due to having the power for 12 years and working with it.
If the persons nerves are dead, it will not do a single thing, say someone is a paraplegic, he cannot make those nerves feel.
Of his own nerves he can only activate half of them.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Cannot feel pain, hardly pleasure.
frequent stiffness and soreness.
Commonly tears muscles and can easily break bones due to a pain limit not being placed.
Extreme exhaustion upon use.
If used long enough it can exhaust him to the point of fainting or in an extreme case a comalike state.
Often worried to actually touch people, fearing actually being able to control it though now he has learned how to.
Incredibly sensitive to pain once the receptors are active.
Both his pain and pleasure activate at the same time, he cannot flip between one or the other for himself, only others.♦ THE CHARACTER ♦

PERSONALITY: Desmond Valentine is the kind of guy that you really shouldn't know. Not that he's a bad guy or anything, well to most people, but the simple fact is that Dessie is a player and a guy who will say what he needs to in order to get what he needs or wants. He became a teacher because it seemed like an easy job to him and he could still drink most of the night and do the things he wanted to, it was a real win win for him. He's a pretty stoic guy unless he's in the mood to be fun.
He tends in class to be a hard ass to most people, barring the really nerdy kids or the ones who look meek and small, then he usually tries to cut them a break. He often spends his evenings at a bar or out riding on his motorcycle, seeing it as a calm and relaxing way to spend the nights. As far as friends go if you have something to offer him he's game, that's his motto with most people actually, if you can give him something then he just may like you. He's a cold, calculating son of a bitch, but he just may be the guy to save your ass in a pinch.

You know those twins that you can see the one that got the good bits and the one that got screwed? That would be Desmond, while his brother Ian is a pretty successful doctor, Desmond always was the second best in everything, despite being a full three minutes older. As a child dessie was a pretty bold boy, chasing little girls and rough housing. He was the one in trouble for pushing around a boy and didn't get the best grades. His brother mark is six years their junior, while Ian helped out Dessie was the one smuggling him treats he couldn't have. Both of his parents being mutant they expected their kids to gain them. Ian at the age of ten, being the ripe overachiever and Desmond at the age of twelve. It was over a span of a week that his powers developed, he slowly stopped being able to actually feel anything, so he dropped his hand on a hot stove, felt nothing and landed himself in a hospital for the hand burns. Within a day of being there he was met by a recruiter. He willingly went with the recruiters and started at bellefonte. He was the guy sneaking into the girls dorms and out at two am, not that he never got caught.
He was the guy that slept with one of the teachers and bragged about it, not that they could really PROVE it happened aside from the boys big mouth, which ran a lot. It was when he turned seventeen that things changed. He was failing almost every class and due to a few older friends, drinking every night. He was on a bad path that lead to drugs and some manic episodes, this lasted about two years, into his graduation and through his doing nothing stage of life. He began sitting at bars all night and one day he just kinda dropped the drugs. Not that it didnt almost kill him, oh it certainly almost did, but he did it to himself. He's been in his fair share of bar fights.
One day he simply decided out of spite to go for a teaching job, he went and did his schooling and a few years later, look who was a gym teacher at the same academy he graduated from. 'He's been there around a year and so far? All's going great.♦ THE PLAYER ♦
