Boredom reigned supreme on Sunday afternoons. Any "friends" he had claimed plans, studying, or just didn't answer his texts. Boredom in a kid like him hardly ever went well, and though he didn't particularly want to get shut away again he had to do something.
So after converting a few twenty dollar bills into quarters he headed to a vending machine near the cafeteria. He bought every packet of gum in the machine stuffing them into his bag to join the huge amount of gum already inside. Gum melted in such a fun way that he collected it like baseball cards. Each brand melting in a different way some stringy, others gloppy, and some almost like melted marshmallows. He loved melting gum.
Any money he had left entered the machines to get chocolate, soda, and a rice krispie treat. All went into the bag to join the stash of sugar sticks. He zipped the bag shifting the strap onto his shoulder then headed off to find the art room. It didn't take all that long art rooms stood out with all the supplies and art plastered on the walls.
Inside he wandered around until he found glitter eyes crinkling as he smiled. "Oh, yeah!" He looked over his shoulder to check the room before shoving as much glitter, sparkles, glitter glue, glitter paint, whatever sparkled in the art room into the duffle bag. The sound of the zipper music to his ears he ran out of the room giggling loudly as he shot down the halls. Glitter covered his hands, the bags, and trailed behind him like Hantzel and Gretel's bread crumbs. Stealthy, not so much.
Finding a secluded spot he dropped the bag and started frantically opening the sticks, strips, packets, and balls of bubble gum. Glitter got everywhere, and stuck to everything which made it ideal for this little project. Before he got too far however he set up his phone to blast high pitched music into the room. Hips bouncing to the music he sang along loudly making a huge pile of opened gum next to all the glitter things. "Dam dadi doo dam dam didoodidam."
