Alice hadn't even been at Bellefonte for more than a few hours and she was already occupying herself by taking it all in; the students, the teachers and the campus. In truth, it wasn't all that much different from back home, 'cept the weather of course. She could no longer wear her loose singlets that gave her wings the freedom they craved, but she supposed that was something she'd have to give away in order not to freeze to death.
After all, it was too late regretting the transfer now, so she'd might as well make the best of it.
Still, Alice couldn't help feeling a little lost. She had forgot asking for a map of the school and she didn't even know where her dorm room was, even if they'd brought her things there before she even arrived.
Chewing on her bottom lip, she looked around and started moving towards the closest person she could find. "Excuse me?" the Australian began, offering a polite smile that didn't quite sit well against her golden features. "Could I ask you something?"

Was that a question directed at her? Tamara was coming off from her last class. The courtyard would make for a good shortcut, although she really didn’t need to head to her next one anyways. Super intelligence came with more than a few perks, although it couldn’t make up for her attendance if she did miss. But what did a perfect attendance really matter to her anyways? She was in the middle of deciding her next course of action when a question was directed…
Somewhere.
Tamara turned her head, just in case, to see who it was that had spoken. Tall- or at least taller than her. Dark hair. A bit of an accent? And a look that read so clearly: “lost.” Tamara took an extra second to make sure that the question really was being directed her way. Although this girl was looking right at her, so the answer should’ve been obvious.
Tamar turned and gave Alice a friendly smile. One that sat a little easier on her own face. ”Go ahead, but I can’t say I’ll answer depending on the question.” Now Alice had Tamara’s full attention. A new face was a lot more interesting than a math class Tamara didn’t even need. She did pause for a moment and tilt her head to the side. This was probably the root of their whole encounter. “Are you… New?"
The girl Alice had addressed seemingly took a few moments to realize that yes, she was the one Alice had been talking to. Alice was tempted to point it out, but decided against it. After all, that wasn't exactly the way to make a good first impression on her first day here, though, honestly, that was the furthest thing from Alice's stack of interests right about now.
She hadn't gone through life pretending up until now, but she supposed playing nice wouldn't hurt for the time being, either.
"I am," she replied with a nod. "Just transferred from Australia," she added with a light shrug to her shoulders. She tilted her head then, regarding the girl in front of her with a quizzical look. "I'm looking for the dorm." She looked at the school building behind them, then looked back at the girl. "I seem to be in somewhat of a pickle." At least she hoped she would come across as more charming than what she actually was.
