Poppy and Piper shared a look and then giggled. Piper was fairly athletic, though that was still well done by her standards. The twins stopped their giggling and eyes widened slightly, both twins jumped in to help look for Toby's missing phone. Poppy even retraced their steps to where she confronted him, but no luck. Walking back with a sigh she shrugged. "No luck from me... any luck here?" Piper shook her head at Poppy's question.

Hey, at least he had the girls giggling. Again, Toby couldn't help but feel like he could probably put that more or less in the "win" column. Not that he was keeping track of such things on a mental scoreboard that he always pictured having those big bright white numbers and everything. Nope, not at all.
Fun hunting. Toby twisted and turned, mostly sticking to the general area. After all, he had pretty well not moved much. "It's probably around--ha," he said, picking up a phone. He held it, studying. "This... isn't my phone," he looked around, trying to see if his was around. "It looks really similar. Do these things reproduce asexually?" He held it up for the twins to look at, wondering if it was one of those. "Because I feel that's something I should've been told before now."

Where could the phone be? Toby literally had his phone just a minute ago, how he could he have lost it? The girls helped him search around and looked when Toby thought he had found it. Turns out it wasn't his phone. But similar to it. "Well it's not our phone." Poppy shrugged and then giggled again at what Toby said. "Last I checked, phones were inanimate objects with no life force to reproduce... even asexually." She stated. "But I don't get how your phone could... just disappear like that. It was literally in your hand, and Piper and I only turned away for a second to catch the frisbee..." Poppy was perplexed. He could have been playing a prank, but it didn't seem like he was. Yeah he came off a little creepy and weird at first, but after the initial meeting, Poppy grew to like Toby and trusted him.
"Now we have two mysteries. Where'd your phone go... and who does this phone belong to?" Poppy peered curiously at the phone Toby was holding. "It looks new." Poppy stated. "But Well-used for the new state. The screen is clean and not cracked... Whoever it belongs to, takes good care of their phone... usually." Poppy shrugged.

"Well, there goes the easy explanation," Toby mumbled as the girls insisted it didn't belong to them. It did strike him a little odd that they said "our" phone instead of "it's not one of ours' or something, but hey, what did he know about twins and how they functioned? Only marginally more than he knew about phones. Clearly the girls knew more about both.
"Tell me about--" he said, before shifting. He popped up, looked around for a moment, and still couldn't quite see anything. Frowning, Toby sat back down, shifting again as he felt something prodding against his butt. Had he put his phone in his back pocket? That felt like something he should have remembered doing.
"What? Oh, yeah, totally," Toby said, nodding and looking at the phone he had in hand (not his). "It does look new," he frowned, twisted, and sat down again, but only for a moment, before turning to all but thrust his butt in Piper's direction "Is there something in my pocket or butt or something?" He asked, pointing. "'cuz it totally feels like it is."

The girls watched Toby as he puzzled over the random phone and the mystery of where his went. Until he started twinsting uncomfortably. The girls shared a look before Toby's but appeared in Piper's face, making her jump back with a squeak before the two of them started to giggle. Yet again. He really was an interesting character. "It looks like something might be in your pocket." Poppy said. "It looks rectangular-ish." Poppy shrugged. Then she realised. "Wait! Maybe it's your phone! Check your pocket. We would... but one, it would be awkward in general and two, well... our powers... so... yeah..." She shrugged again. Piper moved forward again and just agreed with her sister.

"Aha! So my butt's not growing random things! I won't have anything to look up on WebMD later," Toby insisted, before twisting. He did a circle, mostly because he could, before grabbing his phone and pulling it out of his pocket. The comments of the girls had him pausing for a moment to look up. "Sure that's not just an excuse not to touch my butt? I don't blame you."
Toby winked and then finished getting his phone out. He nodded and tapped it. "yep, it's here, everything in place. Soooo," he looked to the other one. "What do we do with this? I don't suppose your powers work on inanimate objects?" He held it toward them, just in case it did. It would be extremely useful after all. And unlikely. But hey, weirder things happened all the time.

Poppy just raised an eyebrow with a bemused expression. "No, your butt isn't growing anything. But that doesn't mean you can't look it up anyway." Poppy giggled. She laughed more as Toby did what could only be described as a weird dance. "And we're sure." She laughed again. Piper was laughing along with her sister. By the end of Toby's little dance, the girls were in fits of giggles.
Poppy was relieved that his phone was safe, and that everything was okay. Still, no one had any idea what to do with the other phone. The twins only shook their heads at the idea. "Nope. Not yet anyway, I wonder if our powers could extend to inanimate objects one day... But then again, they don't have emotions or thoughts... and so unless we somehow ended up with memory-sensing... Though we could eventually learn to sense the emotions or thoughts of the previous user..." Poppy started rambling.

"No thanks: probably find out I have cancer," Toby replied with a shrug. He'd once spent a night or two looking up information on that website, figuring that maybe it would be helpful or something. Had made him paranoid and a little hypochondriac for a few days. Definitely not fun.
Unlike finding a new cell phone. Toby studied both his and the mystery phone, tilting it, examining it while at least one of the twins (Toby wasn't looking too closely so it could have been either one) talked about their powers and all. "Well, powers develop along logical lines," Toby offered, still searching for hints on the phone. "So if your power's already a psychic touching one then it could develop that way. Though honestly," he looked up at the twins, "it's far likelier that you'll end up getting each others powers."
Toby paused for a few seconds, bobbing the phone a bit before extending it out to the twins "You guys wanna take a crack at it? Less to read it and more to just see if maybe it looks familiar or something?" Hey, it was worth a shot. Though Toby was pretty sure he'd already all but shoved the phone in their faces earlier.

"Well... according to... everything... everything gives you cancer, so..." Poppy shrugged. It was more or less true. It's even at that point where even implants are creating cancer, so what next? Dietary food? Pesticides? These things already create their own illnesses and diseases alone as it is. Not that Poppy cared. She didn't really use pesticides. She wasn't a gardener. And she ate whatever foods, so if she was going to have cancer, she'd have it already. "Besides you only live once anyway. What's the point of sweating the small stuff?" She shrugged again.
"But genetics would play a part too right? We don't really know anyone in our family, so we don't know where our powers come from... Our powers could develop into pretty much anything for all we know." Poppy tilted her head. "But I guess you're right." Poppy shrugged yet again.
The girls shrugged. "We could." Poppy took the phone and examined it carefully. It's a little worn on the left... so probably right handed and the nails dug in... could be anyone really, since right-handers out-number left-handers." Poppy looked at the phone closely. "Mild scratches on the screen, probably from frustrated tapping. So more likely a girls phone." She tried turning it on, to see if that would hint at who the phone belonged to.

"Exactly my point. I eat enough crap and stare at enough screens that I'm probably a huge risk for it," Toby said, nodding sagely as he finished. He wouldn't be surprised to find that mutations caused cancer too, or contributed to it or something. he neglected to share this information with the twins: no reason to get them all riled up or sad or something along those lines. Much better to just keep going and try and make the best of it and all. "Well, you gotta sweat some of the small stuff, or it'll be come big," he offered, adding a slight shrug. Again, he wasn't sure what else there was to say about that.
Plus, they had the whole phone and powers thing. The twins seemed to sort of agree with him, and that was enough for Toby, at least for the time being. He'd done enough poking around when it came to powers to figure he had a pretty good idea there, though at the same time, he couldn't quite discount their point and all. Either way, they still had the phone to figure, and he waited while they looked it over.
"So we've got it down to just right handed females, probably," Toby supplied, letting out a chuckle. "I think that's only a few thousand," he reached up, stretching. "Maybe we should try powering it on or something?" he tapped the screen a few times. "I think I've seen this model before," he muttered, rubbing his face as he studied it. He didn't want to take it out of their hands, after all, especially not after handing it over mere moments before and all.
